Maria is an alumnus of James Madison University majoring in Finance and Management and is from Richmond, Virginia. She grew up sailing on the Chesapeake Bay at 6 weeks old and has been cruising the Bay on her family’s 42 foot sailboat ever since. For the past 3 years she has captained a 50 foot sailboat in the British Virgin Islands working for an adventure sailing camp for teenagers. She has gained much of her experience during these 12 week programs in the BVIs and knows the islands better now than even the coast of Virginia!
