Leeward Islands Sample Itinerary

Your Lundy Charters crew will meet you at the airport on Antigua on the first day of your charter and taxi you from the airport to Jolly Harbour to meet your yacht. Get settled in aboard your new home, and enjoy a wonderful lunch while you and the captain tweaks the itinerary for your vacation. Take your first snorkel in the stunning clear waters of the Eastern Caribbean then sail south to English Harbour and stand where Lord Nelson once stood and watch the sunset over Montserrat.
DAY 2 Barbuda
Our downwind day sail will deliver us to one of the few largely undeveloped islands left in the Caribbean. As a result, the island is surrounded on by unspoiled beaches. They are considered the best beaches in the Caribbean; they offer solitude but not a lot of services, as a result, bring both shade and water. Supper at the Martello Anchorage Bar and Grill will allow you to pass through customs while enjoying authentic Caribbean food and drink.
DAY 3 Nevis
Today we will continue up the island chain to Nevis. Take an afternoon walk around the streets of Charlestown and see the best remaining example of colonial era houses in the Caribbean. Much of Charlestown is in its original state due to significant local efforts to preserve buildings. It is only a quick taxi ride to Pinney’s Beach and Sunshine’s Beach Bar for lunch, beachcombing, and their famous Killer’s Bee (described as a perfect amalgamation of rum and juices). We will relax on the beach until it is time to head into town for an authentic Caribbean cookout and live calypso music.
DAY 4 Saba
On to the “Unspoiled Queen” of the Caribbean, Saba, a five square mile island 28 nautical miles south of St. Maarten. This island earns it reputation due to its tropical beauty created by the juxtaposition of its dense rain forest 2,864 feet above sea level and impressive ocean views. Saba is perfect for diving, hiking, and admiring nature. As a visitor you will feel like you have stepped back in history. To culminate this experience we will dine at the Brigadoon, a restaurant located in an 1800’s Saban home.
DAY 5 St. Barthelemy
On your sail into St. Barts, you’ll pass right by the runway for the airport and quickly realize why you decided to sail to this exotic island. This island is comprised of all steep hills and crescent bays. Formerly one of the quiet getaway islands, St Barts is now one of the most developed islands in all of the Caribbean. The island is bustling with tourists shopping for the latest European fashions. This Caribbean version of the French Riviera has been described as a “tourist mecca”. Don’t worry though, if it all becomes a bit much for you, we will simply pull the yacht around to one of the more secluded coves on the island and get away from it all.
DAY 6 Anguilla
Anguilla is considered by most to be the friendliest island in all of the Caribbean. Although the island is only 16 miles long it has 33 white sand beaches and some of the clearest water around. The island has managed to find a balance between development and overdevelopment and can offer world-class accommodations while remaining an idyllic and serene getaway.

DAY 7 St. Maarten
Disembark at Phillipsburg, the capital of Dutch St. Maarten. Guests never enjoy leaving after a week of sailing the Leeward Islands, but St. Maarten (the smallest land mass shared by two different nations) is the place to go out with a bang. This island has: thirty seven beaches, twelve casinos, live entertainment, the cheapest “Duty Free” in the Caribbean, and the largest airport in the Leeward Islands (so that you can get home without having to spend all day in airports). Needless to say, you won’t be bored “waiting around” before your flight home.
